CURATORSHIP TASK
Photographic Heroes
Below is my powerpoint that shows 3 of my favourite photographers and my favourite images created by them. These photographers have inspired and influenced my own visual practice in previous tasks and projects I have carried out.

STEP 1:
Brainstorm all, two or only one of your artists to determine future practical and research developments.
Jackling is an East London based photographer, now living in Germany, who was influenced by the design era of Bauhaus. This influence inspired her works and allowed her to create her own style of still life photography. She enjoys working in studios, on sets, with natural materials and explores shapes, colour, texture and light. She has worked with multiple magazines such as Vanity Fair and GERMAN Vogue along with big brands like Mulberry and Jo Malone. She finds other people's perspectives and opinions important, even in her personal work, and often works with a set designer for "another set of eyes" to "push the project further."
BABINETS PLAYGROUNDIn this series Jackling works with Lightning & Kinglyface exploring light and the effect it has on different materials. The series focuses on structure, perspective and composition. The playful set was created by Jackling and the photos experimented with shadows and reflections.
|
FIFTY FIFTY In this series Jackling used a two-way mirror to capture the plant in the reflection but also the colours on the wall behind it. To create the coloured geometric pattern on the wall she used a Japanese colouring book as reference. She aimed to create a summery series with a "scientific approach."
|
FLORAL PALETTE #1In this personal series Jackling produces 'paintings' inspired by the majestic beauty of flowers. She draws colours from the flowers and paints behind it a matching background.
